Foreign nurses face hurdles / Time limited to learn language, pass
qualification exams

Although foreign nursing-care workers and nurses are known to be
diligent and enthusiastic and domestic medical facilities are
welcoming them as staff, they must clear many hurdles before they
become a permanent fixture in domestic health-care facilities.

bilateral economic partnership agreement. Those workers are now
employed at various health and medical facilities across the country.
After they arrived, they were required to complete a six-month
Japanese language training course or demonstrate sufficient language
proficiency to be exempted from the course.
