Committee to draw policy for language promotion in J-K

Jammu, Nov 2 (PTI) A committee of experts would be constituted to draw
up a policy for promotion of local languages like Dogri and Kashmiri
in the state, a state minister said today. Experts in the field of
education would be tasked with evolving a language policy for the
promotion of Punjabi, Gojri, Pahari, Dogri, Kashmiri and other local
languages, Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman
Bhalla said. The initiative would help preserve the identity of
different regions, he said at a function in connection with 'Guru
Parab' here. He, however, did not specify when the panel would be set
up.
