Growing influence of English has affected Kannada, says writer

SHIMOGA: Writer Ham. Pa. Nagarajaiah said on Tuesday that the growth
of Kannada was being stunted because of the growing influence of
English. He was speaking after inaugurating an appreciation course in
Kannada language for Kannada teachers of secondary schools here. He
said that the English language had become an impediment to the growth
of other languages and Kannada was no exception to it. He said that
Kannada teachers were in a better position to protect the interests of
Kannada which was facing several challenges. L.M.L. Satry, R. Geetha
and Ramesh were present.
