HUBLI: The Hubli division of South Western Railway conducted Hindi
Diwas Samaroh in Hubli recently.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest and Hindi lecturer at Nehru
College Zubeda H Mulla said the popularity of Hindi, a link language,
is growing by the day.
Calling upon people to respect the National Language Policy, she
appreciated the contribution of the railways in the propagation of
official language. "Celebration of Hindi Diwas should not be a formal
event but every one should accept Hindi whole-heartily as an official
language," she said.
Hubli DRM Adesh Sharma said Hindi is becoming popular even in
international level nowadays. "Films, music, television channels are
contributing much to popularize the language," he added. He appealed
railway employees to use Hindi in their official work and not hesitate
to speak the language.
