No, it isn't bothersome at all, and with the explanation I now know why that message came through. It was just funny to see it, since I had to respond to that particular document all of 28 years ago so I just couldn't understand why it was haunting me again!

What is going on here is that I have set up a request for a "google
alert" on the topic of 'language
policy' which means that on a regular basis, usually daily, Google
sends me references to pages on the web that
it has found where language policy is mentioned. Some of the items
are often worthless, or not
pertinent, particularly when it's the "language" (i.e. wording) of a
policy. Recently, I have been
receiving more and more references to individual articles, wherever
they happen to be found, that
refer to articles published in various places that have some
connection to language policy. I have
been forwarding these, referring to them as "bibitem" (i.e.
bibliographic item) assuming that they
may be interesting to some members of the list. I don't edit them, so
if there's a misspelling of
a name, I don't correct it.
If this is bothersome to people on the list, I'll stop doing this.
