White House Holds Summit on Hispanic Education

The White House is hosting a summit today and Tuesday with Education
Department officials and Hispanic education, community, and business
leaders. President Obama will sign an executive order tomorrow to
reaffirm the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for
Hispanics, which has been pushed by every president since George H.W.
Bush endorsed the original initiative, in 1990. President Obama’s
version of the effort seeks to create partnerships between
organizations to create community-wide programs and to better share
information. The summit can be watched online here:
