Mon, Oct 18, 2010, 09:48 am SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Oct 18, Colombo: An official from India's Ministry of Human Resources
Development is to visit Sri Lanka soon to share India's experience in
tri-language education, Sri Lanka government said. The visit is a
result of a dialogue between Sri Lanka External Affairs Minister Prof.
G.L. Peiris and Indian Minister of Human Resources Development Kapil
Sibal. The visiting official is expected to educate Sri Lankan
officials on the implementation of the tri-language education policy
of India.

Sri Lanka is also exploring the possibility of implementing the policy
of educating public with their mother tongue, English, and a regional
language spoken in their respective areas as in practice in India. Sri
Lanka views this as a solution for the ethnic crisis.
