INTERNATIONAL INDIGENOUS LANGUAGE
POLICY RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM
May 2-3, 2011
STUDENT UNION BUILDING (SUB)
University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA

SYMPOSIUM OVERVIEW

The future survival of remaining Indigenous languages across the
Americas has been an increasing area of
concern among Indigenous groups engaged in language initiatives in
their respective communities. As these
efforts have emerged, a major source of conflict has often been the
impact that social, economic, political and
education policies have had on these languages. Scholars, researchers,
and practitioners from various countries

including Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, Canada and the United States will
share their insights, observations,
research, and films in a series of featured presentations. Come join
us for this important two-day event!
Additional Information: Although there is no charge for this event,
seating will be limited. On-site registration
will be open at 8:15 AM both days outside Ballroom C in the SUB. All
sessions will take place in the SUB.

May 2nd, Monday: 9 AM Keynote. Presentations: 10:45 AM – 4 PM.
May 3rd, Tuesday: 9 AM Keynote Presentations: 10:45 AM – 2 PM.
