Please note: This is a new version of a previously announced text.

Drawing on political discourse from a wide rage of settings and
perspectives, this book is set to provide a descriptive and analytical tool
for examining political discourse and will be welcomed by anyone interested
in discourse analysis in general, and in political discourse in particular.

Topics covered in this book include the study of political discourse
styles, the use of rhetorical strategies (vocabulary, metaphors,
quotations, parentheticals, etc.), the relation between political discourse
and society (legitimization, the private-public interface, identities),
role of gestures in relation to speech, methods for analysing political
discourse, and how to build and exploit a political language corpus.
