TCE 576 LANGUAGE POLICY AND ISSUES IN BILINGUAL EDUCATION

COURSE CREDITS: 3 credit hours, 11-weeks online through Blackboard

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course presents issues related to local, state, and federal laws
and policies pertaining to educating P-12 English Language Learners.
Class readings and discussions will include evaluating the historical,
political, social/cultural, and linguistic issues (e.g., assessment,
technology, parental involvement) involved in bilingual education
programs designed to meet the needs of students who are speakers of
languages other than English.

COURSE INFORMATION
TCE 576 is an ESOL and ESOL/Bilingual endorsement program for
Professional Teacher and Counselor Education unit. This course will be
delivered via Blackboard, your online learning community, where you
will interact with your classmates and with me. Within the course
Blackboard site you will access the learning materials, tutorials, and
syllabus; discuss issues; submit assignments; email other students and
the instructor; and participate in online activities. To preview how
