London are hosting the PG Conference on Current issues in Sign
Language, Deafness and Cognition (CISLDC), London, September 16th,
2011

The CISLDC 2011 is organised by postgraduate students under the
auspices of the Deafness, Cognition, and Language (DCAL) Research
Centre, University College London (UCL) and City University. The
postgraduate conference aims to offer the opportunity for postgraduate
students from various areas related to sign language linguistics to
come together to present papers related to their research and to
exchange ideas.

Dr. Pamela Perniss (DCAL UCL London, Max Planck Inst., Nijmegen)
Patrick Matthews (Centre for Deaf Studies, Dublin)
2nd Call for Papers:
The deadline for abstract submission to PG Conference on Current
Issues in Sign Linguistics, Deafness & Cognition has been extended to
June 10th 2011.
Abstracts in English of up to 300 words on any topic related to sign
language linguistics are invited for 20-minute oral presentations or
poster display.
Submissions for paper / poster talks are welcome on the following areas:
a. Sign language and cognitive linguistics / psycholinguistics
b. Sign language documentation / corpus linguistics
c. Sign language discourse
d. Sign language pragmatics/semantics
e. Sign language phonology
f. Sign language acquisition, development/assessment
g. Sign language variation
h. Sign language syntax/morphology
i. Sign language and gesture
j. Bimodal bilingualism
k. Translation & interpreting studies
l. Sign language processing / neurolinguistics
m. Deafness and Literacy acquisition
n. Atypical sign language development
All submissions will be peer-reviewed. Submissions must be emailed to
CISLDC11gmail.com by June 10th 2011.

The official languages of the conference are English and British Sign
Language (BSL).
