Seminar on English language policy
British Council will hold a seminar on “Bangladesh English Language
Policy” at the Westin Dhaka in the city on Thursday. The seminar will
to draw together key policymakers and influencers to take forward and
further develop the agenda and debate on English in Bangladesh, said a
press release.
David Graddol, associate professor and distinguished visiting scholar
of Depart-ment of English City Univer-sity, Hong Kong, Huw Jarvis,
senior lecturer in TESOL, School of Languages Univer-sity of Salford
and Moha-mmad Rafiqul Islam, chief executive officer of RAK
Pharmaceuticals, Bangla-desh will present keynote papers in the
seminar.
Md Nazrul Islam Khan, private secretary to the prime minister, will be
present at the seminar as the guest of honour.
