DPM says it again: Decision on language policy final
KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has again
reiterated that the decision to revert the teaching of Science and
Mathematics (PPSMI) from English to Bahasa Malaysia is final.
Muhyiddin, who is also Education Minister, said the ministry would not
bow to pressure from any quarters to have the PPSMI reinstated.
He said he would give a detailed explanation on the matter on Friday.
The Parent Action Group for Education (PAGE) last week submitted a
memorandum to the Prime Minister asking for an option to allow the
teaching of the two subjects in English.
