TN policy to state - Chandru

The Tamil government policy of titles only in regional language is
likely to be implemented in Karnataka. All these years it was a
discussion when the Hindi and English titles were registered for
Kannada films. The title committee was budging to the demand of
producers without convincing for Kannada titles.

On Wednesday night the Kannada Development Board Chairman, actor in
big and small screen, sitting MLC Mukyamantri Chandru has made an
appeal for Kannada film producers to chose only Kannada titles or else
face the music.

In a letter Mukyamantri Chandru is writing to the Chief Minister of
Karnataka DV Sadananda Gowda he is seeking cancellation of government
facility for Kannada films that bear other language titles. It must be
strictly Kannada title for Kannada films he insists.

When a producer is insisting on other than Kannada language title film
he has to forego the 100 percent Entertainment Tax exemption, subsidy
of Rs.10 lakhs and the film will not be considered for the State
awards says Chandru.

He calls for the unity in Kannada cinema industry and giving a
consolidated collective opinion when the crisis arrives. Chandru is
having some other relevant issues to bring it to the notice of
Karnataka chief minister that concern the Kannada cinema industry.

Out of 6000 languages in the world nearly 2500 languages are in our
country. On an average every 15 days one language is vanishing is the
concern of Mukyamantri Chandru.
