Language Policy Division
The University of Cantabria is a university with an increasing
European and international dimension, as shown in the number and
quality of agreements with the best universities in the world. In
order to achieve a further degree of internationalisation, the
University of Cantabria has decided to demand its graduates a good
command in English (B2 level according to the European Framework for
Languages) by the end of their studies. In order to enable students to
reach that level, the Language Policy Division has designed a Language
Policy Plan which includes measures such as the following:
making sure that English is used throughout the degrees and that all
the undergraduate degrees offer as many subjects taught in English as
possible
making sure that all the teachers involved in the Language Policy Plan
have the adequate level to teach subjects in English (C1)
organizing exams and interviews to certify the language levels described above
coordinating all the English teachers involved in the Plan
organizing and supervising English courses (summer courses,
extracurricular courses, teacher training courses) and Diplomas in
English
Staff:
Dr. Teresa Susinos Rada
