On Tuesday, Prime Minister, Hashim Thaçi said that assurance standards
of the application of community languages are fully compliant with all
international conventions and European legislation.

The Prime Minister made these comments at the inauguration of the
Language Policy Board, while Deputy Prime Minister Slobodan Petroviç
has asked everyone to work on implementing the Law on Languages.

At the inauguration of the board, the chief of government, Hashim
Thaçi said that the establishment of the Office of the Languages
Commissioner is of particular importance, especially for the Republic
of Kosovo as the newest state built basing on ethnicity with maximum
respecting and guaranteeing the rights of communities.

Also, he has said that the competition is opened for the Commissioner
and it is expected that this process will successfully be completed,
and also today was inaugurated the Language Policy Board, which will
be responsible for providing institutional support for developing,
implementing and empowering language policy.

The country's first executive said that four years have passed since
the declaration of independence, adding that an inseparable part of
state-building project and our vision of multi-ethnic Kosovo in the
integration of communities has been and will remain the Ahtisaari
plan.

Further, he added that since the creation of the state of Kosovo, has
been the commitment to promoting and advancing the rights of
communities, which is based on two columns, first the right and non-
discrimination in the enjoyment of all human rights and freedoms. And
secondly the right to maintain and develop the identity through the
freedom to practice and use those special and inalienable aspects of
their life as communities, with particular emphasis the culture,
religion and the language.
