Language policy as a consolidating factor
Round table on "Language Policy in Kazakhstan: the implementation
of the principle of the spiritual basis of the people of Kazakhstan",
organized by the Center for the Study of inter-ethnic and
inter-religious relations of the Academy together with the Assembly of
People of Kazakhstan was held on the 24th of October, 2012 at the
Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic
of Kazakhstan.
The main purpose of the event was to discuss the status of the
language policy in Kazakhstan and to elaborate recommendations on
enhancing the role of the state language in strengthening the
spiritual consolidation of the people of Kazakhstan.
This event brought together representatives of the Assembly of
People of Kazakhstan, the Parliament, the "Nur Otan" Party, ministries
and agencies involved in the implementation of the state language
policy, science and pedagogy, applying innovative methods of teaching
languages, leaders of ethnic and cultural groups and members of the
Expert council of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan.
"The implementation of the State policy of development of
languages for 2011-2020 and objectives of spiritual consolidation of
Kazakh society", innovative teaching methods and the native languages
of the state were discussed in the programme of round table.
