Beresford Adopts New Language Policy
9/11/2012
The Beresford Deputy Mayor says it`s official-- the town is officially
a Francophone community. Gilles Halley says you won`t notice any major
changes because the Acadian culture is already alive in the streets.
He says many people consider Beresford as bilingual.
However, Halley says residents have expressed concerns and want the
new designation. He says there are some English-only signs in
Beresford. Halley adds the municipality won`t force owners to change
anything but they are being encouraged to adjust and make the signs
bilingual.
