Dear International Education Colleagues:

Please find information below on two upcoming international education
conferences.

The first conference, the 8th International Conference on Language Teacher
Education, is organized by one of IFLE’s Language Resource Centers (LRC),
the National Capital Language Resource Center. It will be held in
Washington, DC from May 30-June 1, 2013.

The second conference is organized by the Asia Society and is the Sixth
Annual Partnership for Global Learning Conference. It will be held in New
York City from June 27-29, 2013.

Additional details are below.

***1. Invitation to attend the 8th International Conference on Language
Teacher Education*

 We would like to extend this invitation to you to attend the 8th
International Conference on Language Teacher Education (LTE 2013).

Designed for practitioners and researchers involved in the preparation and
ongoing professional development of language teachers, LTE 2013 will
address the education of teachers of all languages, at all instructional
and institutional levels, and in many national and international contexts
in which this takes place, including:

*   English as a Second or Foreign Language (ESL/EFL) instruction;

*   foreign/modern/world language teaching;

*   bilingual education;

*   immersion education;

*   indigenous and minority language education; and

*   the teaching of less commonly taught languages.

The conference aims to bring together teacher educators from these contexts
to discuss and share research, theory, and best practices and to initiate
and sustain a meaningful professional dialogue across languages, levels,
and settings.

The conference opens with Pre-Conference Workshops from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
and 1:30 - 4:30 PM on Thursday, May 30, 2013. The Opening Plenary and
Reception will follow at 5:00 PM.

Asia Society Partnership for Global Learning invites you to register for
our sixth annual conference!

Themed “Engage the World,” the conference will feature more than 45
hands-on workshop organized into four intertwined strands that will help
educators and their students better engage the future:

·       Deeper Learning Help students learn how to learn and gain skills
and knowledge an ever-changing world demands. Give them opportunities to
apply critical thinking and decision-making skills to real-world issues and
projects. Design learning experiences that allow students to work

All sessions will also feature practical ways to help educators and school
