The objective of this symposium is to join researchers in Language Policy
and Cultural Rights together with specialists on International Law,
Language and Complex Systems as well as representatives of indigenous
organizations in order to both analyze and evaluate the effects of
contemporary changes on sustainability and survival of communities and the
emergence of their rights.****
In this event, we expect to develop the following discussion lines:****
1. Diversity, social cohesion and new minorities from a complex system
perspective;****
2. Effects of the global crisis on migratory flows as well as on the
continuity of their ethnolinguistic heritage;****
3. Policy implementation and actors that make planning possible;****
4. Appropriateness and quality of plurilingual and intercultural
education;****
5. Methodologies to study sociolinguistic change and implementation
strategies;****
6. Diverse functions of writing in plurilingual and pluricultural
situations;****
7. Reconfiguration of identities in the contemporary glocal scenario;****
8. Regulations and legal instruments -both national and international-
to recognize and protect minorities.****
