At the Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore

We are pleased to announce that the Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore (India) will host the 1st International Conference of the Linguistic Society of India (ICOLSI-1). 

Registration Fee:

The registration fee is as follows:

1. Participants from SAARC countries: Rupees.1500/- 
2. Students from SAARC countries: Rupees. 1000/-
3. Students from SAARC countries (without fellowship): Rupees. 750/-     
4. All others: USD 75 (Seventy five US dollars)

The registration fee includes conference kit, modest accommodation and boarding facility for SAARC delegates. For other delegates, registration fee includes conference kit and boarding facility only. Delegates who wish to have hotel accommodation at their own expense may contact the Organizers well in advance at icolsi2013 at gmail.com. Modest accommodation will be provided to Paper Presenters on 'first-come, first-served' basis (depending upon receipt of the registration fee in advance). A list of hotels and similar facilities (to be booked and paid by the participants on their own) will be uploaded on the Linguistic Society of India website (http://www.lsi.org.in) and the Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore website (http://www.ciil.org) in due course.

Call for Papers:

Abstracts are invited for oral presentation on substantial, original and unpublished research on all aspects of theoretical and applied linguistics, with particular focus on languages and linguistic applications relevant to South Asia.

Paper Topics: 

The areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the following (alphabetically sorted): Anthropological Linguistics; Clinical Linguistics; Cognitive Linguistics; Computational Linguistics; Corpus Linguistics; Discourse Analysis; Historical Linguistics; Indian Grammatical Tradition; Language Planning; Language Teaching, Language Testing; Language Contact and Language Change; Language Endangerment and Language Documentation; Language Technology; Lexicography; Lexicology; Linguistic Typology; Machine Translation;  Morphology; Natural Language Processing; Phonetics; Phonology; Pragmatics; Psycholinguistics; Semantics; Sign Language; Sociolinguistics; Stylistics; Syntax; Translation.

Submission Guidelines:

Abstracts of research papers, not more than one A4 page (minimum margins: 2.5 cm or 1 inch; font size 12; Times New Roman; single spacing) must be submitted both in .pdf and .doc formats, i.e. MS WORD and PDF both. The abstract should start with the title of the paper, followed by name of the author(s), email address, affiliation abstract and five keywords. Please send your abstract to icolsi2013 at gmail.com, latest by September 30, 2013. Acceptance of abstracts will be communicated latest by October 15, 2013. All paper presenters have to be LSI members by the time they register for the conference.

Important Dates:

Notification of acceptance: October 15, 2013
Submission of full paper: October 31, 2013
Conference: November 27-29, 2013
