Linguists from Moscow State University have recorded a Russian dialect spoken by a few elderly people in Alaska that has been isolated from the mainland for over a century. The community is located in Ninilchik, a small village close to Anchorage. Along with a lexicon that would be considered outdated in Moscow, the language also features a grammatical gender shift.
