Translation and Translanguaging in Multilingual Contexts
Volume 1, Number 2, 2015

Translation and translanguaging are natural and complementary phenomena. They occur in multilingual societies and are currently advocated as valuable pedagogies that develop the ability to operate between languages, nourish creativity and a multilingual sense of self, permit to co-construct meanings and share knowledge, skills and experiences as well as foster the capacity to critically reflect on the world and ourselves through the eyes of another language and culture. The aim of TTMC is to give voice to the growing body of research into this burgeoning field of scholarly enquiry and practice as well as stimulate novel interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary studies. These are carried out in multilingual settings as varied as pre-schooling, primary, secondary, tertiary and postgraduate education as well as vocational courses, workplaces, travels, places of worship. The journal provides a new forum for innovative studies that find their place at the interface of different di!
sciplines, i.e. bilingual and multilingual education, language teaching methodology, second language acquisition studies, intercultural communication and translation studies.
Contributions are invited for Volume 1, Number 2 of TTMC. Topics of interest may include, but are not limited to:
- History of translation pedagogy
- Translanguaging for translingual and transcultural competence
- Interpreting and language learning (e.g. liaison, consecutive, or simultaneous)
- Audiovisual Translation (AVT) and language learning
- Corpora and translation pedagogy
- Language for Special Purposes (LSP) and pedagogic translation
- Content and Integrated Language Learning (CLIL) and translation pedagogy

Interested contributors are invited to submit an abstract of around 500 words to the General Editor, Sara Laviosa (saralaviosa at gmail.com), no later than 10 January, 2015. Papers of approximately 7,000-9,000 words will be peer reviewed by two anonymous referees.
