[lg policy] Ok put that down, it's time for an awesome survey on electronic gizmos and doowackeys at sociolinguistic events!

Hello fellow sociolinguists of varying flavours, shapes and sizes...

It's that time of year again, conference season! That means it's time to put together
some publicity for the Sociolinguistic Events Calendar, thinly veiled under the guise
of a survey. This time, the team of calendar mods and I are focussing on something
that often really splits the room: electronic gadgetry and online adventures during
and after sociolinguistic events.

Are you an infuriating Twitter addict who might get their damn iPhone smacked out of
their hand any moment now? Are you a tiresome Luddite who doesn't know their Snapchat
from their ChatRoulette? Take the survey and find out how you compare to your fellow
esteemed peers and colleagues!

And remember to head along to http://www.baal.org.uk/slxevents.html and subscribe to
the Sociolinguistic Events Calendar, to enjoy the constant bewildering bombardment of
all the simultaneous sociolinguistic events around the world that you can't possibly

Heart-emoticons and kiss-emojis from everyone at the Sociolinguistic Events Calendar

P.S. In case this message hasn't been spammed around quite widely enough, please feel
free to send it on to any other sociolinguistically minded folks!
