 Minister Vila hands out the Linguistic Policy Report to the President of
the Parliament of Catalonia

On November 16, 2016 The Minister of Culture, Santi Vila, handed out the
Language Policy Report 2015 to the President of the Parliament of
Catalonia, Carme Forcadell. Also the Director General of Language Policy,
Ester Franquesa, was present.

The Language Policy Report 2015, prepared by the Directorate General of
Language Policy of the Ministry of Culture, describes the linguistic
situation and includes the language policy actions of the Government of
Catalonia.

The report contains data on various aspects related to the use of Catalan
among the population, at the university, teaching, institutions, cultural
consumption and other strategic sectors of Catalonia. In addition, it
includes a section on actions of external projection of the Catalan
language, the Catalan sign language, Occitan, Aranese in Aran, the legal
framework, and an annex with the institutions and the budget that has been
devoted to language policy.
