Hi all,
A remarkable revelation today on the BBC's Daily Politics programme, from Sir Eric
Pickles MP, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government 2010-15, who
signed off all the central government funding for promoting the Cornish language. The
revelation explains his somewhat nefarious reasons for approving the funding, and
also helps explain the swift end to the funding once the coalition had been replaced
by the current Conservative-only administration.
I recorded the TV interview today, wrote up a transcript, and included some
background info in a short writeup here: https://www.academia.edu/31944206/ (includes
link to the video I've put online).
