Dear colleagues,

Check out a new series of webinars on Language Policy in Africa, hosted by
the University of Bern (Switzerland):
https://initiativeafrique.unibe.ch/news_and_events/events/upcoming_events/index_eng.html

The first of these webinars will be on 3 October, from 4 to 5 pm CEST (3 to
4 pm BST). Speaker will be Caroline Story
<https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Caroline-Story> from Texas State
University
<https://initiativeafrique.unibe.ch/about_us/structure_organisation_team/index_eng.html#e1703449>,
who will discuss her article “Postcolonial Language Imperialism in Africa –
The Latter-day Saints Missionary Program.” She will explore how and why
missionaries are trained to do their work using certain languages, and not
others.

The session will be moderated by Djouroukoro Diallo

the University of Bern.

Best regards,
