Announces a position in
Folklore/Expressive Culture
The University of Texas at Austin, Department of Anthropology invites
applicants for an anticipated position at the level of Assistant Professor,
to begin September 2000. Applicants must hold a Ph.D., or be ABD with a
reasonable expectation of completion by August 2000, and must have an
outstanding record of research in folklore/expressive culture.
Specializations might include public culture, performance, ethnomusicology,
the anthropology of media, and visual anthropology. Responsibilities
include both graduate and undergraduate teaching, as well as research.
Applicants must demonstrate not only a high level of research productivity
but also excellent teaching skills. Salary will be according to
qualifications. The successful candidate will be affiliated with the
Center for Intercultural Studies in Folklore and Ethnomusicology
(http://uts.cc.utexas.edu/``folklore).
