There's an episode of *The Simpsons* in which Bart goes to France as
an exchange student, ends up a captive laborer for men making wine
with kersoene, and learns French by absorption, or osmosis, or
something.
Also, the movies *Beavis and Butthead Do America* and *With Honors*
both contain humorous scenes based on the prescription against using
a preposition to end a sentence with.
