Hello, I have two queries for the list. (1) I am looking for the full reference for the following article, which I believe appeared in an edited volume. The article compares literacy aquisition by two Hmong communities in Philadelphia:

Weinstein-shr, Gail. "Literacy and Social Process: A Community in Transition.". 272-93.

(2) I am looking for anything concerning Chinese four-character expressions, or "chengyu." I am especially interested in studies regarding their use in conversation or how they are taught in primary schools - but anything that comes to mind would be appreciated. I will post a summary of responses to the list.
