Thanks for forwarding this...perhaps not directly ling anth, but valuable
information.  I hadn't known he just passed on.  As is obvious from the obit, he
was quite an amazing person and teacher.  I took his ethnobotony class in 1977,
and his breadth and depth of knowledge of the field and the people he worked
with was astounding.
