mini disc recorder

Thanks for all the responses about recording equipment. For the time
being, I decided to order the following from www.minidisco.com:

MZR900DPC - Sony MZ-R900DPC portable MD recorder with USB link - 329.95
ECMMS907-TT - Sony ECM-MS907 Stereo Microphone - BD - 99.95

When our new digital language lab gets underway, I'll have it order
the DAT Walkman Pro which is out of my price range right now since
the grant money I have left is being used to pay for the data
collection trip and only part of the equipment.

I did consider the Pro Walkman analog until I found it was $1500!

If I've made a terrible mistake, let me know. The equipment won't
ship till Thursday and I should receive it Friday morning. I
considered the MZR700DPC which the local Circuit City carries, but
the new 900 seemed to have a few more bells and whistles that might
actually be useful.

I still don't feel I know enough about a mini disc recorder unlike
getting a good analog recorder that's reasonably priced, but I'm
taking a chance that I'll learn really quickly (I need to do one
interview Friday). We'll see.  --Sonja
