The International Studies Program and the Department of Anthropology at
the University of Wyoming invite applications for a full-time, tenure
track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with a focus on Latin
American studies beginning in August 2008. PhD (or ABD near completion
of the PhD) in political science, international studies, Latin American
studies or anthropology required.
Areas of interest include Latin America and globalization with an
emphasis on development issues, economic systems, global governance,
and/or environmental issues. A strong theoretical orientation is
desirable. Primary teaching responsibilities will be for the
International Studies Program at the undergraduate and graduate levels,
in particular, courses that fulfill the Latin American concentration
requirements for the international studies major, and in the
applicant's area of expertise. Candidates will teach two courses per
semester and provide service to the International Studies Program.
We are seeking a dynamic scholar who combines an active research agenda
with excellent teaching and student advising. Salary is competitive.
The International Studies Program is an interdisciplinary program (160
majors, 30 graduate students) offering BA and MA degrees including the
Masters International-Peace Corp degree.
