The Department of Anthropology at the University of Vermont invites
applications for one-year full-time lecturer position in socio-cultural
anthropology to begin August 2012, with the possibility of reappointment
for a second year beginning August 2013. We seek an individual with a
Ph.D. or ABD in Anthropology and expertise in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Possible areas of teaching expertise include introduction to
socio-cultural anthropology, development, globalization, social
movements, research methods, and race and ethnicity in cross-cultural
perspective. Cross- and trans-disciplinary courses are encouraged,
especially those with relevance to UVM's Global Studies Program, African
Studies Program, and Women's and Gender Studies Program. Candidates are
expected to provide evidence of teaching excellence at the college level.
The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute
to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their
professional work (in this case, teaching). Applicants are requested to
