Hello,
I clicked on the link, entered today's date, and left all questions blank (no answer whatsoever). The last page asked for my name, offered me to enter the raffle for one of 10 $100 gift cards, and it stated that my name would NOT be linked to my answers. So, I could have entered the raffle with a blank survey. Also, in case there would be some sort of control, I could have answered all those questions randomly just in order to enter the raffle.
The whole process took about 5 minutes because I went over the questions, out of interest. But, with another type of interest ($$$) and a few email addresses at hand, I could create a few empty or bogus surveys just to enter a raffle. People bet at much unlikely odds all the time.
On the other hand, were I a student who is tired of seeing how everything in my life (achievements, cooperation, human activity in general) is treated in material and economic terms, I would plainly refuse to answer such a survey: Why the chance to get $100 just for being honest and helping a research on "cultural adaptation and identity development"? Or (within the same, legitimated logic), why $100, not $1000? Why 10 gifts of $100, not 100 gifts of $10?
So, the $100 upfront offer biases the possible results in various ways, IMHO.
