Dear Colleagues,

I hope everyone’s week is off to a great start!

I’m emailing because the design thinking firm I work for is interested in
incorporating methods from ling anth into design thinking, which has
historically been dominated by cultural anthro methods. I’m responsible for
heading up this initiative from the senior management and wanted to ask you
all if there are any other review articles or survey pieces on ling anthro
methods I could point them to. I’ve reviewed the ones from Ahearn’s Living
Language textbook, Duranti’s 1997 Linguistic Anthropology textbook, as well
as the articles from the JLA’s recent forum pieces on methods (including
the recent discussion of the Ethnography of SPEAKING-and-EATING). If there
are any other methods publications that you suggest, please feel free to
email me offline at nadumas at ucsc.edu.

In the meanwhile, I wish everyone the best on the current endeavors.

Best,
Nate
