Dear SLA Members,
 It is my sad duty to inform you that Jennifer Jackson, a current SLA Board Member and a valued colleague in UCLA’s Department of Anthropology, passed away Thursday night (5/21/15) surrounded by her wife, Ryan Christie, her closest friends, and her puppy Ezra.
 Jennifer had just achieved tenure.  She was two weeks shy of her 40th birthday.  She simply loved life, anthropology, Madagascar, and especially her students.  Jennifer has touched many of us and the SLA is planning a memorial event in Denver during the AAA meetings.
