Dear Linganth Members,
Below is our second Call for Papers for the 62nd Annual Conference of the
ILA. The theme is Language and the Brain. Please note that the ILA accepts
all submissions in other areas of linguistics and linguistic anthropology.

Please submit your proposals by February 18, 2017 and share this call with
colleagues!

*Second Call for Papers*

*Major Theme: * *Language and the Brain: coding, understanding, and
processing*



This conference focuses on language and the brain, investigating language
coding, understanding, and processing across the human lifespan. The ILA
invites submissions which discuss the theoretical, methodological and
practical issues facing investigators working in this area.



Topics may include (but are not limited to) the following:



Neural biological foundation of language

Language and memory

Eye movements and language processing

Brain imaging technology and language processing

Neurobiology and language and age

Modeling language and cognition

Language development

Language disorders

Reading and literacy development

Bilingualism and the brain



In keeping with the ILA tradition, we also invite individual papers or
posters on other areas of linguistics.

Pedagogical grammar based on tagmemics: Alice Deakins of William Paterson
University and colleagues.



Vocabulary development based on different principles of lexical
organization: Kate Parry of Hunter College, CUNY and colleagues.





*Guidelines for Proposals*



A paper or poster title and abstract of between 300 and 400 words,
excluding references, is required along with a summary abstract for the
conference booklet of no more than 150 words. The author's name,
institutional affiliation, mailing address, and phone number must also be
included. Proposals will be blind-reviewed for quality and originality.
Submissions should contain mainly new material and must not have been
published previously in order to be considered.



All proposals should be emailed in a MSWord (.doc, .docx) file and using
“ILA2017” in the subject line, to Ms Annika Wendt, ILA Secretary at
awendt at ilaword.org by *February 18, 2017*.  Proposal acceptances will be
sent by *March 11, 2017*. The author(s) whose proposals have been accepted
for the ILA Annual Conference must register before the *March 28*
registration deadline in order to be included in the Conference Program.

*Notification of acceptance:  *Saturday, March 11, 2017

*Registration requirement:    *Presenters’ registration fees must be
received by
