[Linganth] One-year Position in Linguistic Anthropology at U of Virginia

The University of Virginia Department of Anthropology seeks to hire a linguist or linguistic anthropologist for a one-year appointment as an Academic General Faculty Member (Tenure-Ineligible) at the Assistant Professor rank. The term of appointment runs from July 25, 2017 through May 24, 2018. Geographic area and topical specialization are open, but candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching and be prepared to teach courses that contribute to the interdepartmental Linguistics MA program and undergraduate major as well as to the Anthropology graduate and undergraduate programs. The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester. Teaching will include at least two courses in structural linguistics.
Applicants must have a PhD in hand at the time of application. Compensation will take the form of full-time salary with full-time benefits. Review of applications will begin May 16, 2017. Interviews with finalists will be conducted over Skype.
