Dear Colleagues,

The Association for Africanist Anthropology (AfAA) sponsors two annual
student paper awards: the *Nancy “Penny” Schwartz Undergraduate Award* and
the *Bennetta Jules-Rosette Graduate Student Essay Award*. Please consider
submitting your top student papers for consideration. Awards will be
presented during the AfAA reception at the 2017 Meetings of the American
Anthropological Association (AAA) in Washington DC, and both awards carry a
cash prize. This year's submission deadline is June 30. More information
