[Linganth] SLA spring conference overlap with GURT

[SLA Online]

As a few of you have already reminded me, the SLA spring meeting, March 8-10,
overlaps with GURT, March 9-11.  We (the SLA board and the conference
planning committee) do know that, and we are not thrilled that the
scheduling worked out this way but unfortunately, we were under constraints
as to the dates for which we could get our preferred venue at Penn.  As I'm
sure most of you know, March, April, and May (especially March) are very
busy months for meetings related to linguistics and anthropology, and
unless every organization knows every other organization's exact meeting
dates a year or more in advance, overlap is unfortunately a likely
possibility.  We could guess but we couldn't know.  We hope for better
scheduling in the future.
