Social Anthropology at the University of Edinburgh is appointing to 8 
Lectureships:

o             4 in Social Anthropology as a general field

o             3 in the Anthropology of International Development

o             1 in the Anthropology of Sustainable Development

This listing and application is for applications for the Lectureships in 
Social Anthropology as a general field. Applicants whose profile would 
be dominantly focused in International or Sustainable Development should

You will further the School’s international reputation in Social 
Anthropology teaching and research. You will demonstrate experience, 
achievement and outstanding potential reflected in a growing portfolio 
of teaching activities, and a commitment to the provision of academic 
student support. You will have a research profile, in both experience to 
date and in future potential, which is at the forefront of scholarship 
in social anthropology. You will also exhibit a strong commitment to the 
collegial life of Social Anthropology and the School.

These full-time posts are available from August 2019 – 3 are available 
on a permanent basis, 1 is available for a maximum of 12 months. 
Applicants who would not consider an offer of the fixed-term post should 
indicate this on their application.

The posts are full-time, but we will consider applications made for 
part-time work, although not for less than 0.8 FTE (4 days per week).
