Hi Karen,
I really like Robin Queen's article on lesbian humor:
Queen, R. (2005), "How Many Lesbians Does It Take …". Journal of Linguistic Anthropology, 15: 239-257.
I also highly recommend Kira Hall's work and Rudi Gaudio's work, which includes passages related to humor.

Subject: [Linganth] research on transgender humour
Hello,
I have a student who is looking for references on transgender humour or gay and lesbian humour. That is, humour as used by members of these groups to mark identity, not humour about them which invokes stereotypes. If anyone has any suggestions, I’d be grateful.
Thank you,
Karen Pennesi, PhD.
