Dear SLA members,

We hope you are having a nice week. Jena and I want to follow up on our previous email (below) regarding the virtual conference component. The deadlines were simply for gauging interest in either planning or converting panels, not firm deadlines for decision-making. As we work with the general SLA planning committee, we will ask for decisions as we move forward with the call this coming fall. So please do not feel pressured to respond to the below dates as firm deadlines!

All best,

Jennifer and Jena

Subject: [Linganth] SLA Meeting - Virtual Component Participation (process for planning virtual panels)

Dear SLA members,

As core members of the Committee for Language and Social Justice, Jena and I are reaching out to follow up on Kira's email regarding SLA conference that will now be held April 7-9, 2022. As she has noted in that email, the LSJ will sponsor the virtual component of this conference. We are asking for folks to reach out to us on the following conference planning points:

1) we are looking for volunteers to help us plan and organize the virtual component of the conference (please respond by May 14)
2) we want to know who wants to convert in-person panels to a virtual format (please respond by May 31)

Our emails are jdelfino at bmcc.cuny.edu and JenaBL at knology.org. Please be sure to include both of us in your response.

Thanks so much! More details to come as we start to plan.

Jen and Jena
