Dear fellow linguistic anthropologists,

This is a friendly reminder that the annual SLA Business Meeting will take place online TODAY between 6-8 pm ET.  The zoom link is https://cuboulder.zoom.us/j/97746587424. We ask that you join the meeting with a transparent professional or university email address so that our team can let you in quickly from the waiting room.  Should you have any problems accessing the meeting, please email one of our SLA Members at Large, Courtney Handman (chandman at austin.utexas.edu<mailto:chandman at austin.utexas.edu>), Adrienne Lo (a27lo at uwaterloo.ca<mailto:a27lo at uwaterloo.ca>), or Jenny Davis (loksi at illinois.edu<mailto:loksi at illinois.edu>).

This year the AAA has asked us to conduct all section business meetings virtually instead of in-person. For this reason, the business meeting will focus on the annual reports delivered by members of our extended board and will not include the announcement of the outreach award, student paper awards, and SLA book awards, which will instead be announced at the SLA Awards Ceremony and Reception at the AAA meetings in Baltimore later this month. We are pleased with this new arrangement, as it will give us more time to hear from our membership in the business meeting regarding any questions or suggestions you may have.  We will, however, be announcing the newly elected members of the SLA executive board at the business meeting, including President-Elect, as well as a new slate of volunteers for the SLA extended board.
