Brown University invites applications for a 2-year International
Humanities) Postdoctoral Fellowship in Anthropology or a related field at
the intersection of language and health, with a theoretically and
ethnographically grounded approach to studying language in social contexts
particularly relating to health, illness, medicine, or care, broadly
understood. This position is to be held jointly at the Cogut Institute for
the Humanities and the Department of Anthropology, effective July 1, 2022.
The successful candidate will teach two courses per year in the Department
of Anthropology, cross-listed in the Cogut Institute's Humanities course
offerings. The fellow will also be affiliated with the Cogut Institute and
is expected to participate in the weekly Tuesday seminars as well as other
activities of the Institute. PhD in anthropology or a related discipline
within the humanities or social sciences must have been awarded within the
last five years (or dissertation must be filed by August 1, 2022). Salary
of $61,500 with an increase to $63,907 the second year plus benefits and a
research budget of $2,000 per year. This two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship
is not renewable. Candidates should send a letter of application,
