Dear Colleagues,
Following up on my earlier email, I would like to draw your attention to upcoming deadlines for the 2025 American Anthropological Association Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana! Once again, the meeting will be held from November 19-23, 2025, and this year’s theme is “Ghosts.” We hope you can join us for an exciting program!
1. Please note that the deadline to submit is April 16 at 11l:59 PM EST. You may submit by clicking here<https://annualmeeting.americananthro.org/submit/>.
2. Given our fast-approaching deadline, and for those of you who have yet to commit to panels, I would encourage you to consider submitting your research and work by way of other possible formats that offer additional flexibility. Please note that these presentation modalities are in-person only and will also be specially featured during the Annual Meeting. Additional information about these alternative modalities may be found here<https://annualmeeting.americananthro.org/submission-types/>. These include:
* Poster Sessions
* Flash Presentations
* Conversation/Debate
* Interview Sessions
3. For those of you interested in joining a panel but have not yet committed to one, please consult the AAA Communities Hub<https://my.americananthro.org/community/NC__Login?ec=302&startURL=%2Fcommunity%2Fs%2F> and our LINGANTH listserv. I have also developed a Google Doc<https://docs.google.com/document/d/19xTvWmt3d5UMM2qN-tH3GtljyiFmxRUb_5cLBgbiRPw/edit?usp=sharing> where you can submit panel and abstract ideas while networking with other potential presenters.
4. As we approach next week’s deadline of April 16, do please remain attentive to the AAA Conference’s Role Limits<https://annualmeeting.americananthro.org/roles/>, which stipulate that each participant can have one “major role” and two “minor roles” (keep in mind that panel Organizer/Co-Organizer and Chair are classified as “Unlimited Roles”).
5. Please note that the call for special events (i.e., mentoring, business meeting, and so forth) will open on April 21.
Thank you all for contributing to our intellectual community during these challenging times. Do please reach out to me should you have any additional questions.
All very best wishes, and I hope to see you in New Orleans!
