Did you recently write a term paper, thesis, or dissertation chapter on linguistic anthropological topics? Or maybe you are an instructor and you read a good one during grading time in December? The Society for Linguistic Anthropology holds an annual student essay competition at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Consider submitting your work, or encourage your student to do so!

Eligibility guidelines and submission links are here: https://linguisticanthropology.org/about/prizes/

The Gumperz Graduate Student Prize is due January 15, 2025 and the Undergraduate Paper Prize is due June 15, 2025.

Best wishes,
Kate
