Hello,
I am a linguistics researcher conducting a study alongside Dr. Addie Sayers
(UNCW). We are currently researching how anti-DEI policies impact language
revitalization. As part of this project we are conducting interviews with
linguists and anthropologists working with Indigenous communities on
revitalization programs with the aim of understanding 1) how anti-DEI
policies are currently impacting programs with an eye toward universities,
public education, and funding; and 2) workarounds people have developed to
continue their projects in spite of anti-DEI policies.
We are seeking the participation of linguists and/or anthropologists
actively working in Indigenous language revitalization who would be open to
discussing current policy impacts and potential future directions.
Participation will involve a remote interview, taking no more than 60
minutes. Any identifying information, such as personal names and
institution names, specific projects, and specific languages will not be
included in writings or presentations about the study.
If you would be interested in participating, you can email either me (
elliejpassmore at gmail.com) or Dr. Addie Sayers (chinaa at uncw.edu) for further
details and scheduling.
This project has been reviewed by the UNCW Institutional Review Board
#H25-0581.
Thank you!
