Hi everyone,

I just wanted to inform you all that the abstract deadline for the American
Association of Geographers Annual Meeting has been extended to November
8th. We will be accepting abstracts for the Linguistic Geography sessions
until November 8th as well. We have some very interesting talks lined up
already, but the more, the merrier!

Here are the some details for the sessions:

Language and geography interact in many ways, and at many scales. Scholars
from fields such as cultural geography, linguistic anthropology, sociology,
computer science, and political science share in the endeavor to understand
the relationship between language and space. This series of
interdisciplinary sessions examines both the role of landscape in language,
and the role of language in landscape.

Topics include (but are not limited to): language and space, geosemantics,
linguistic landscapes (language use in public spaces), language and power,
ethnophysiography, toponymy, dialectology, and linguistic cartography.

Thanks,
